Admiring His Inspiration

Time really run out so fast and it seems that it was just yesterday when i used to visit my Auntie on their house in our province. My auntie died last year because of Kidney failure. She’s been undergoing for Dialysis treatment for more than 10 years. I am really amazed how strong she is ans she managed to survive such a critical stage of her life. Believe it or not, she managed to raise her children well despite of her illness. My cousin was able to graduate in a Nursing school.
My cousin actually pursued a nursing career because he wishes to take care of her mom once he graduated. Unfortunately, her mom passed away but his dream to become a nurse is still there and he will do it for his mom. For those who are not familiar with Dialysis treatment, it is a process of removing waste and excess water from the blood. His mom had been dealing with a phlebotomist and other health care specialists in each and every sessions that she had. I’m not really sure but I think my cousin is planning to focus on such field to help those patients who are undergoing dialysis treatment like her mom. I am not sure what school did he goes but maybe it is as credible as the nursing school san francisco in California. He is now a licensed nurse and is practicing his field professionally in a well known hospital here in our country. I am really proud of him.

Recipes with Twist

My late grandmother was really a great cook. She can put so many twists and turn a normal and “boring” recipe to a very inviting and appetizing dish. How i wish i can taste all her recipes again she’s now in heaven and there’s no way to have those wonderful dishes back. However, i am very thankful that i still have my mom who used to be a good cook as well. Though her dishes have different approach unlike my grandma , it is till something you can never resist. Won’t you guys love those dishes with a twist? How about a Spicy Peanut Pasta? Does it sounds good for you? Well, i got used to eat pasta with tomato sauce or that white sauce for carbonara but I haven’t tried matching it with peanut. Sounds weird but exciting right? Actually, your dishes do not have to be very exotic. You can put some twist to eat by simple cooking them the other way around. Why not try to steam instead of deep frying or something like that, it will sure make a difference. Or , you can have weber grills at home to grill the meats without the need of going outside. I think that would make the meals more exciting and not so boring to eat. Anyway, I think i have to end this post now because i am drooling and craving now for a grilled fish… … and i can match it with a nice dipping sauce…. yum yum…

Being a “Wido”

Do you know what “wido” is? It is actually a term or a dialect here from my country which means a person with the ability to know the chords or notes of a certain song by just using his own intellect or instinct. Wido can play a certain piece even they just heard it once. They are talented people indeed and I think i can consider my cousin as one of these intellectual individuals who have such a nice gift of talent. My cousin is truly fascinated into music. He got his own guitar when he was just in high school. Since then, he started to show his ability to play those chords without asking anyone to help him. He taught himself how to do this and that until he became more skilled in using his guitar. It was the typical Gibson guitar as far as I know and then he switched to an electric guitar and eventually bought another instrument as he wanted to explore more about music.

He Just got this brand new Bass Guitar which actually look different from a typical one. Interestingly, the bass guitar has 4 big strings only which produces heavy and dark tones. He told me that base guitar is more of a background music to give more color or texture to a song. He’s really into music and now he also got a new keyboard and I am pretty amazed because he’s able to play it with no ease despite of the fact that he hasn’t undergone any training or course about it. He’s trying to make some experiment now and make his own recordings. I am not really sure if he will be using that tc electronic nova system to produce a higher quality sound but what i know is he try to combine all his recorded music into one track. He doesn’t have a drum set though but he told me that he’s actually aiming to buy one to complete his music set. He needs a huge space to occupy all his instruments too. Anyway, i don’t think i can be a “wido” like him (a weirdo maybe LOL) cause i think it is more of being a talent than being a skill that you can learn.

GMA’s Upcoming Shows for 2012

GMA Network has so many shows to offer this new year but nothing as special as “Amaya” or “Munting Heredera” this time but I am hoping that they would come up with such great story lines to make their shows more interesting. “Legacy” just got started a week ago starring Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe and Alessandra de Rossi. It is dubbed as the most alluring and glossy drama masterpiece in Philippine primetime. Though i know it is quite early for me to judge the show and i don’t know how the story will go yet, i’m just wishing that they will keep “Munting Heredera” as their standard to meet their viewer’s expectations. “Biritera” is also one of their primetime offerings starring Dennis Trillo, Glaiza De Castro and Angelika dela Cruz. It will also feature a new GMA talent as well. Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes will reprise their onscreen tandem through “My Beloved“. I’m not sure with the storyline yet but I am crossing my fingers right now that it has nothing to deal with vampires or else it might be another “twilight syndrome in the making”. GMA also has something to offer for their afternoon slots including “Hiram Na Puso” starring Kris Bernal and Mark Herras ; “The Good Daughter” with Rocco Naccino and Kylie Padilla ; “Broken Vow” starring Bianca King, Luis Alandy, Rochelle Pangilinan and Gabby Aigelman. “Daldalita” on the other hand will be replaced by “Alice Bungisngis and her Magic Walis” starring Bea Binene. I have never been satisfied with Daldalita so i am really happy that it will be replaced now by another show. Anyway, I think this is a good start for GMA. I am looking forward for better shows this year!

Childhood Memories

They said that if you want to grow up, then you better leave all your baggage behind but that doesn’t mean that you will burn the bridge between your childhood and your present life. I had a very wonderful and rich childhood memories and they’re not that easy to forget. I remember my childhood friends, those games that we used to play with, those toys that we all shared together and those days that we think nothing but to enjoy the rest of the weekends. I remember my mom used to buy us some set of Lego and toy soldiers but we used to destroy everything which sometimes pissed my mom off LOL. We used to play Yo-Yo too though i am pretty bad to it. Whether it’s an expensive or a cheap yo yo , i never had a chance to perform any tricks better than my playmates. I don’t know much of the tricks and I can hardly execute the “Walk the Dog” and “Around The World” tricks properly. (Sigh) Though, I know some of the basics including the “Sleeper” and “Loop the Loop” but i don’t think I can ever be as good as my cousin who can play almost every amazing yo-yo tricks including the “Chop Sticks” and “Eli Hops” which is a certified crowd pleaser. Oh well, those were the childhood memories that i really treasured and I guess I am too old to play such games again.

Surprising her on her Birthday

Mom celebrated her 49th birthday last January 9 and i was able to give her a surprise gift. Well, i told her that I don’t have enough budget for her birthday and i was pretending that i really feel down because i can’t treat her on her very special day. I can see it on her face that she felt really sad that time so I just keep on acting to prevent her from blowing my cover haha. My siblings and I joined our forces together to surprise her. I was able to buy all the ingredients and the desserts without being caught by my mom. I hid them all in my drawer and told my sister to cook her special recipes. My brother Milzon, on the other hand, is trying to convince my mom to take him somewhere far from the kitchen so she wouldn’t notice or smell anything from the dining area where me and sister are busy preparing the spaghetti, and other dishes. Thanks God we plan everything ahead and I was able to buy my mom a pair of new clothes. Actually i was thinking of buying her one of those cute stainless steel watches that i saw in the market the other day. Anyway, i think we did great with our plan and my mom was very pleased with our surprise gift for her. So next time, we have to think of something different to make her 50th birthday more special.

The Muppets Review

It is nice to bring your childhood memories back especially if you try to recall those kiddie programs that you used to watch when you were just a kid. This is the reason why I never hesitate to watch “The Muppets” yesterday because I know that it will bring a lot of wonderful memories back. I used to be a big fan of the Sesame Street but we used to watch replays of The Muppets before that’s why we are very familiar with Kermit and Miss Piggy and I remember my mom used to buy VHS copies of The Muppet’s Episodes just to stop us from crying haha. This is the first ever Disney-produced Muppets Film. The film stars and it stars Amy Adams, Jason Segel and Chris Cooper. The film also introduces “Walter” , a new muppet who used to be a big Muppet fan. Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) planned to visit Los Angeles to celebrate their tenth Anniversary and they decided to bring Walter with them to give him a chance to visit The Muppet’s Theater only to find out that it is almost neglected and abandoned. However, things went crazy when Walter decided to sneak into Kermit Frog’s Office. He discovers Statler and Wardorf selling the Muppet Theater to Tex Richman (played by Chris Cooper) without knowing that Richman’s real intention is to destroy the Muppets and to drill for oil underneath the theater. Walter learns that in order for the Muppets to repurchase the Theater, they have to raise $10 million which is quite impossible because Muppets are no longer working together and took different paths. In order to save the theater, Walter, Gary and Mary decided to look for Kermit to tell Richman’s evil plan. They were able to convince Kermit and they all decided to look for the other muppets including Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Miss piggy and the rest of the muppets. Will they be able to raise $10 million in just a short period of time? Is it the end of the Muppets? Of course, i don’t want to spoil this film so you have to watch it on your own risk. Jack Black, Selena Gomez and Whoopie Goldberg are cameo stars that can be seen in this film. It’s goofy and fun and all kids and kids at heart will love.

Chris Rene is my Bet

Yay! Melanie Amaro was hailed as the first ever X-Factor USA and took home the grand prize of 5 Million dollar and a Pepsi Commercial. Well, to be honest she is not my bet but I know how talented she is and how powerful her vocal is though i was really hoping that Chris Rene would have won the competition.His very creative and he got his own originality as he composed his own songs and is able to give justice to it. well i didn’t know that Chris came from a family of successful music artist. His late grandfather is the person behind Jackson 5′s “Rockin Robin” (sorry but the only version that i know is the one sang by Jackson 5 and the version of Megan Joy Corkrey of American Idol Season . His Sister and his father are both musicians too so it is not really surprising why Chris managed to bring himself up to the Finale. Anyway, we can’t deny the fact that Chris was able to get our sympathy after confessing his horrible past when he was drowned to addiction. Chris inspired us because of his effort to keep himself away from that past for the sake of his child. He went to rehab to completely overcome his drug addiction and to take the right path of his life. With all the improvements and success that Chris has receiving, there is no doubt that he went to one of the Best rehab centers in his area. Isn’t very inspiring to see someone change for the sake of his child and for the sake of correcting all the mistakes behind his past? But anyway, even he didn’t win the game, i’m sure a lot of offers will come to him.
