I was in Ortigas Center last week because I had to attend a scheduled Job interview. It was my distant cousin who referred me to this company where in my job deals with teaching Korean Students online. I was really intrigued how Online teaching works. As you all know, i’ve been tutoring kids since I was in high school. Teaching has always been my passion that’s why i didn’t waste any of my time and grabbed that opportunity to enter a teaching field. It must be really exciting to teach Korean kids over the Internet. It is a challenge indeed but I’m sure it would be fun too.

Unfortunately, the said interview was postponed and moved to another date so i have to travel all the way from Cavite to Ortigas again. I also realized that i might experience some location and transportation difficulty if i will be staying here in Cavite still. I better look for some boarding house near my working place. Well, this job is not that hard and i bet that i will not be needing any social security disability benefits for this but it would be great to have one to secure myself if ever something worst happened to me right? This kind of benefit is really useful especially for a breadwinner like me.

When i was working with my previous employer which is a housing development company. I remember how stressing that job was. Well, i am working there as an office staff and my job deals with house planning. Yup! you heard that right! I know it sounds ambitious but i was actually trained to plan Japanese house. Well, I am not lay-outing the entire house. I was just assigned for the specific part of it which is the foundation which is also the most important part of the house. Japanese houses are quite different compare to Western and other Asian houses. Most of their house are elevated and their basement serve as their inner ventilation.

One of the most stressing yet memorable experience i had with that company was when i scan all my layouts every time. I used to scan one plan for about seven to eight times and submit them from different departments. I remember we’re using  scanner software that makes it easy for me to scan all the necessary documents.

Well, i miss not just my job but also my former colleagues. If i will be given a chance to chose between my current job and my job here, i would rather choose my previews employer because i really had so much fun working with them.

Finally! I got my Christmas bonus today. The just got my pace slip today and maybe later i will withdraw my bonus on my ATM card. However, looking at the figures being shown in my salary slip is quite disappointing. I was actually expecting of a much higher amount than this but sad to say, it is lower than what i am expecting. In fact, some of my colleagues are complaining about this very low Christmas Bonus. We deserve higher! Anyway, i think we have no choice and we just have to deal with it. Good thing i can always apply for payday loans to cover up all my extra expenses. Most of my office mates are doing the same thing. Every time that their budget was short, they apply for payday loans to help them with their shortcomings. Actually, the last time i had this kind of loan was last Christmas. Our relatives from the province visited us and since my budget is not enough to prepare for a bigger Christmas celebration, i have no choice but to borrow a money from a lending company. Well, payday loans are not that big compare to other loans like housing and auto loans. The money you can borrow here are enough to shoulder the rest of your extra expenses. And since it is not that big, it will b very easy for you to pay your bills. Actually, i have heard that there are some lending companies that deduct your payment directly from your monthly salary. Anyway, we accepted this very low Christmas bonus but we are just hoping that our 13th month pay is not a disappointing as this. The money that i will be receiving from my 13th month pay will be used for my upcoming birthday and New Years Eve Celebration.

A good executive image is important and part of that image is created by your manner dress. Proper dress and manners are more importance in a job interview than unwary suspect. Dress sense is a matter of commonsense and good taste. Avoid sweaters under suit jackets , pens in the breast pocket of jackets. Both men and women should wear clothes of a conservative color and cut. For men, highly polish your shoes and make sure they are in a good state of repair. Wear clean white, colored or striped business shirt and a conservative tie. Your nails and hair should be well groomed. Avoid throwing your hands around, using cliches or bad language in your speech or in any way acting in an offensive manner. Do not sit down until you are asked. Do not smoke, even if you are asked. Have a list of references with addresses and phone numbers which can easily be checked.

If houses, cars and other properties can be insured, so as your life and your health. You can never tell what will happen the next day. Accidents for example are not predictable; Sickness, on the other hand, can be prevented but you can never be assure that you can be protected against any diseases in your entire life. This is the reason why there’s such thing as life and health insurance. Supposed to be, these insurance must be included as one of the benefits of any other employees especially those who are working in dangerous fields like construction and more. However, there are still employers who are not offering such benefits, putting their workers’ life at risk. Good thing there are independent lending companies that offer insurance quote for these employees. If houses, cars and other properties can be insured, and even the Iphone and other gadgets, why not us right?

I actually have a scheduled interview today but i failed to attend on the said venue. I really felt so bad because i feel like i was given a chance to grab a once in a lifetime opportunity but i just let them go away. We all know how hard to get a job nowadays. I don’t know if we should blame the so called “global financial crisis” or shall we also blame those corrupt government officials who did nothing but greediness. Anyway, despite of all these trials, we should be very thankful to those companies who are willing to help unemployed people to find and get the job that they’ve always wanted. And also the people behind those job finder sites that help us to find jobs way faster than reading the entire classified ads of the newspaper. I’ve worked in an office before and I must say that I really had so much fun being office stuffs. It’s been a dream for me to work in an office and deal with some working papers and working in that company is like a dream come true!

The terms “Working papers and Document files” are already wired when you said office jobs. Well, that is way back before when computers are not yet widely use. Nowadays, most offices are using a modern way of storing their documents using document management system software. Using this kind of software, storing files and arranging them in place are just one click away.

But of course, it would be better if you will also provide hard copies of those documents in case of any emergency.

I’ve been in a Human Resource Department 2 years ago. My job is to screen applicants and interview them to test if they are qualified enough for the position they are applying for. I am working as an HR in a boutique so meaning to say, we are dealing with clothes and fabrics here and the store attendants that we wanted to hire has a pleasant personality which includes the height of the applicant. Height is really important that is why I felt pity for those applicants they we have rejected. How I wish I can tell them to buy human growth hormone or any supplements that can improve their heights but I really don’t have the courage to tell it to them directly because if I were in their position, I will feel insulted and humiliated. How about you? What will you do if you were on my position? Will you tell it them frankly? Will you consider this kind of human growth hormone as the best way to improve your height? I know some will say that this is the body given to you by God and you should be contented to it but of course in the practical side, let’s admit that tall person really has great advantage in so many things especially in getting a job.
