The Power Of Women

I would rather die a meaningful death than to live a meaningless life.” This powerful quote was stated by no other than our former president, Corazon Aquino. She is indeed an inspiration to many of us especially for women who are aiming to step out of their limitations to prove the world how powerful and influential they can be. Being a woman has never been a reason to achieve your goal. Keep in mind that Corazon Aquino is the first Female president not just in the Philippines but also in the entire Asia. On top of that, she was also featured in Time Magazine proclaiming her as the Woman of the Year.

Corazon Aquino is just one of the most influential and famous women in the world who changed the history and proved that their gender has never been a hindrance for them to achieve something higher that is way far beyond man’s expectations. Joan of Arc  is one of the early examples of powerful woman who did a tremendous achievement. Her courage and determination lead her to a victorious mission. She was able to lead an army at her very young age and is considered as one of the pioneers of the so called “Nationalism”along with other powerful and influential male leaders in the world.

Our dear Mother Theresa , on the other hand, proved her worth in a different way. Her faith and hope brought her to triumphant missions. She is indeed a major religious figure and everybody is looking up to her. In fact, she was just beatified last 2003 and is about to become Saint after the Canonization process. Just like Mother Teresa, Princess Diana never used any sort of violence nor her power to become an influential woman. She did a meritorious achievements through her charity works.

Of course, you do not have to become a hero or do such heroic act just to prove your worth as a woman. Using your skills and talent is actually good enough to tell everyone how great are you. Kerri Walsh for example is not as powerful as the other women I mentioned above but her skills brought to a major success, proclaiming her as one of the greatest and famous volleyball players. Same thing goes with Maria Sharapova. Other powerful women of today’s generation include Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Margaret Thatcher. Actually, you don’t need to be famous just to prove your worth as a woman. As long as you know yourself, you know how to fight for your rights and you have the courage to break the boundaries that keep men from women and you have the strength to step out of your limitations.
