Weight Watch while on the Road

Watch it. Buffet breakfast offered in hotels can be loaded with sugar and fats. Have a simple breakfast~ whole wheat toast with low-fat mayo or non fat cottage cheese or some tuna with sliced tomatoes, fruit platter, soya milk, or low fat yogurt. A fiber rich food makes you feel fuller longer. Don’t skip the most important meal. People think that if they skip breakfast, they are cutting down on calories but they tend to overeat at lunch and eat many snacks through out the day.

Bag it! With zip-lock bags, you could slice you turkey sandwich into two and bag the other half for your next snack. This is especially true to restaurants that offer big servings.

Not just for Kids! Your other option to big servings is to order from the kid’s menu. You can also share the dish with your travel partner. This means eating in reverse. Instead of upsizing your fries or soda, downsize your food. Traveling involves exploration of different cuisines that your destination offers. While food trip may be an integral part of your vacation, this can lead to weight gain when left unchecked. Food intake must always be in moderation. Start ahead and choose to stay healthy!
