The easiest way to motivate your kids in their studies or to encourage them doing their home works is by visualizations. Visualizing what you teach will make it easier for them to understand everything you say. Even when i was just in high school, i felt bored when my teacher do nothing but talk, and talk, and talk. No matter how hard or how detailed you explain, it is still hard for your kids to remember them. Unless you try to visualize it while explaining the information. It is very helpful knowing that they can now illustrate the information in their mind. Here are some ways of visualizing.
Drawing: The best way to visualize information is by illustrating it to them through drawing figures.It is easy to remember things that you see than the things that you hear.
Flash Cards: Flash cards is somehow useful especially in memorization. In my case, every time i’m teaching my youngest brother who is just 6 year old. I make use of flash cards to teach him the alphabet. This way after he memorize each letter, i will shuffle it then ask him to recite it. And because it is in random, this will test your kids IQ and memory.
Visual Aids: Teachers actually use visual aids. This is very effective when it comes to flow chart or outlining of information. Let’s just say, it’s the bigger version of flash cards.
Actual Figures and Elements: For example, you are about to teach your kid about different kind of animals, or different kind of plants, insect or whatever related, and if you have enough time, you can let your child explore the real thing and learn it by seeing the actual elements. You can take your kids in zoo so he/she will have the idea how animals looks like. Take them to aviary for birds, botanical garden for plants and more. let them explore.
